Creating better cities together

THE FESTIVAL

Connect with 700+ urbanists, placemakers, and community leaders to explore building belonging, co-creation, city laboratories, and resilience, which are this years themes. Through talks, workshops, and hands-on experiments, we shape public spaces that care, connect, and inspire.

HOST CITY

Wrocław, the vibrant capital of Lower Silesia, is a “City of 100 Bridges” where history meets youthful creativity. Known as the “Polish Venice,” its picturesque islands, riverside boulevards, and charming architecture blend with a lively university and cultural scene, making it a welcoming, dynamic, and inspiring city for community-driven urban life.

ABOUT THE CITY

Wrocław’s 20th-century history is marked by profound transformation, from the modernist ambitions of interwar Breslau to the post-war reconstruction of a Polish city shaped by memory and continuity. Its architectural legacy includes landmarks such as the UNESCO-listed Centennial Hall by Max Berg, a pioneering reinforced-concrete structure, and the WUWA Estate, an experimental housing project that continues to inform ideas of functional urban living.

Today, Wrocław is recognized as a leader in participatory urbanism. Through tools such as the Civic Budget and Microgrants programs, residents actively shape their neighborhoods. Projects like the greening of Nowy Targ Square—once a concrete-dominated space, now a vibrant urban forest—and the adaptive reuse of the Dąbie Tram Depot into Czasoprzestrzeń demonstrate how citizen-led initiatives, climate resilience, and heritage preservation can intersect.

More than a decade after serving as European Capital of Culture, Wrocław functions as a living laboratory for placemaking, where community initiatives, cultural heritage, and experimental interventions come together to foster inclusive, vibrant, and sustainable urban life.

We're working on making an amazing festival. More information coming soon!
