We’re offering a limited number of scholarships to support participation in Placemaking Week Europe 2025, making the festival more accessible to placemakers from all backgrounds who wish to join us in Reggio Emilia this September.
This programme is made possible in part thanks to the generous support of those who purchase Hero Tickets as every Hero Ticket directly helps fund travel and access for someone who might not otherwise be able to attend. Thank you for helping us build a more inclusive placemaking community!
Whether you’re a student, community organiser, early-career professional, or part of an underrepresented group, this is your opportunity to connect with placemakers from across the globe and help shape more inclusive, resilient, and creative public spaces.
What the scholarship includes:
- A full event pass to Placemaking Week Europe 2025
- A fixed travel grant based on where you’re travelling from:

How we select scholarship recipients
We aim to create a diverse and balanced group of scholarship recipients who bring a wide range of experiences and perspectives to Placemaking Week Europe. Applications are reviewed based on several factors, including:
- Geographical spread, with special attention to underrepresented regions and persons
- Financial need or personal circumstances
- Level of engagement in placemaking or community-based work
- Relevance to our 2025 themes and values
Our goal is to ensure that the scholarships go to those who will both benefit from and contribute meaningfully to the festival experience.
