Placemaking Western Balkans is a non-profit knowledge and innovation think-tank dedicated to improving public spaces across the Balkans and Southeast Europe. We work together with communities, public bodies, academia and professionals on turning complex public space challenges into inspiring ideas and impactful solutions.

Our interdisciplinary network, based between Belgrade, Serbia and Rotterdam, the Netherlands connects experts in architecture, urbanism, planning, landscape design, art, digital innovation, civic engagement and communication.

We combine research, technology and co-creation with an integrated approach to public space transformation, turning local knowledge and aspirations into meaningful places rooted in everyday life. Next to our transformative projects, we organize public events and workshops across the Balkans and SEE region, to inform, share knowledge and foster the value of places.
