Placemaking Finland

Placemaking Finland advocates for placemaking nationally and its mission is to connect placemakers, share knowledge and promote projects and initiatives. The network gathers around varying topics and activities and is actively in dialogue with other Nordic countries’ networks promoting Nordic placemaking.

Placemaking Finland is an informal network advocating for placemaking across Finland, based in Helsinki. Its mission is to connect placemakers, share knowledge and promote projects and initiatives that make cities more vibrant and people-centred.
The network gathers 4–5 times a year around varying topics, including case presentations, research articles and projects, urban walks and visiting talks.

The network actively participates in dialogue and development with other Nordic countries’ networks to promote and develop Nordic placemaking framework.

Placemaking Finland is organised by Timo Hämäläinen and Päivi Raivio, and the main communications channel is a WhatsApp group.
