The Main Streets Manual is an extensive tool on how to improve the main streets of cities that goes beyond the field of transportation. Focussing on six key areas (equity, safety, health, economic vitality, environmental sustainability and community), the tool explores why transportation and main streets matter. Moreover, the manual offers recommendations for both physical and programming strategies for main streets and how to implement this through a community-powered placemaking processes.
