Cities in Placemaking: Fredrik Lindstål interview by the Good Place

"Instead of protesting about what you don't like about the city, placemaking enables people to get involved and participate in giving shape to their urban spaces"
Fredrik Lindstål

Robin interviews Frederick, former Deputy Mayor of Stockholm and a board member of Placemaking Europe, about the significance of placemaking in urban development. They highlight the importance of citizen participation in city planning and discusses the challenge of making placemaking efforts more permanent.

The former Deputy Mayor explains that Stockholm has traditionally been a highly planned city, but there is now a growing movement toward more inclusive, community-driven planning. He also touches on the role of politicians in shaping cities despite their short terms in office.

As a lifelong skateboarder and placemaking enthusiast, he appreciates the evolving dialogue around public spaces and the involvement of younger generations.
