Stefanie Raab, Architect, funder and CEO of coopolis planning office for cooperative urban development. 2005 she started the first agency for temporary use "zwischennutzungsagentur" in Berlin Neukölln. With her interdisciplinary team, she develops and implements tools for creative support, space activation, vacancy management and participation. She initiates and gives advice to initiatives, networks, companies, property management, municipalities, owners and freelancers on project development and funding options of integrated urban development. She is also expert on the topic of fair, city-compatible tourism. Lecturer + teaching in the field of moderation and participation processes at various educational institutions and universities, numerous lectures nationwide and on european level.

Our main subject is COLLABORATIVE PLACEMAKING - Temporary use as a strategy for revitalizing abandoned areas. Our approach on placemaking is to enable the investment of cultural and social capital equivalent to economic capital – the result is an attractive mix of cultural and social offers enriching the commercial desert of most inner cities today.
Additionally, we offer skills in: Urban planning, Participation methods, also with kids, elderly, online and analogue, Activation of abandoned areas, Networking, Collaboration and Cooperation, Support and Business development for the creative industries and community-oriented real estate development.
Stefanie Raab began the project Zwischennutzungsagentur (agency for temporary use) in 2005. In a short time it became COOPOLIS, a planning office for temporary and sustainable use coordination, networking and participation focused specifically on Berlin - Neukoelln. In three years Coopolis coordinated the temporary use of 150 new fashion stores, sewing workshops, galleries, cafes, youth facilities, music clubs, and other venues. As a connector, Coopolis took government subsidies to organize the change process.
