THEME
The training is part of an international Erasmus+ project to discover how cities can be more inviting and supportive of physical activity, and how communities can better connect through movement in shared spaces.
The aim of this training is to share knowledge and experience, which participants can then use in their own activities, and further, to create a network of professionals connecting city makers with sports and fitness professionals. During Wednesday Nov 24th and Thursday Nov 25th, we are keen to share our expertise and research on placemaking interacting with physical activity, and also investigate with you, and the group of participants:
How can physical activity bring new meaning to our public spaces?
What does it mean to be active in urban spaces?
How can we motivate inclusive physical activity in our urban environment?
What are innovative movement oriented tools and applications to activate communities around place?
PROGRAMME
The training will be one day on Wednesday November 24th consisting of: interactive lectures and practical applications of public space resources - regarding placemaking and activation of public spaces.
The case studies will be one afternoon of excursions on Thursday Nov 25th showing good examples of spaces in Amsterdam that are conducive to physical activity and fostering community cohesion and collaborations, and also with listening to the testimonies of some experts at these locations.
