In early July 2020 the PlaceCity Symposium explored the potential of placemaking as a tool for urban regeneration. Especially, in times of COVID-19, we were asking how we can extend public spaces in need to enjoy our cities better. Does placemaking as a tool contribute towards a more caring and resilient urban future? The PlaceCity Symposium spanned two online days, June 30th from 14 – 16 CEST and July 1st from 14 -16 CEST, and an exciting "offline" explorative walk on July 2nd.
Together with international placemakers, planners, civil servants, city administrations, among others, we showcased and contextualized local placemaking projects, including PlaceCity Oslo and Vienna.
