Over the last year, PlaceCity ( https://placemaking-europe.eu/placecity/) has been very active in collecting and testing placemaking tools in two different local contexts - Vienna and Oslo - and sharing them with placemakers all over Europe and beyond ( https://placemaking-europe.eu/the-toolbox-mainpage/). At the mid-term of the PlaceCity project, we would love to share our own experiences and open the discussion about placemaking and its potential as a tool for urban regeneration with other cities. The experiences that cities all over the world, facing Covid-19, have made in the last months give us the opportunity to explore placemaking with new eyes!
We are reaching out with an exciting invitation for the online symposium "Placemaking as a Tool for Urban Regeneration" on June 30th (14:00-16:00 CET) and July 1st (14:00 - 16:00 CET).
After reflecting on how different cities, including Vienna, Oslo, Madrid, Barcelona and Buenos Aires, responded to Covid-19, we will explore the possibilities and limitations we need to address through the experiences of different local contexts, to achieve a shift stand in collaboration and placemaking. Together with international placemakers, planners, civil servants, city administrations, among others, we will showcase and contextualize local placemaking projects, including PlaceCity Oslo and Vienna.
The symposium will be organized online via Zoom and broadcasted live on Facebook. You will receive the invitation link after you have registered online: https://forms.gle/QYQASGwfY6gYnPM38
