Placemaking Europe's Place-Led Development Working Group is pleased to invite you to The Deep Dive Series. Please join us via Zoom on Tuesday May 11th @ 18 -19.15 CET presented by Silvia Casorrán, City Councilwoman from Barcelona, and Patrick Kappert, Spokesman neighbour association Col.lectiu Superblock Poblenou, about the Barcelona Superblocks.
The Superblocks in Barcelona are famous for their conversion of city streets into expanded public space for dense urban communities where green space is in short supply. Patrick Kappert (Spokesman neighbour association Col.lectiu Superblock Poblenou) and Silvia Casorrán (City Councilwoman from Barcelona) bring their expert perspectives speaking to first hand experience working towards the Barcelona Superblocks. Silvia Casorrán, from her field of mobility, as well as her experience advocating for improvements to the city’s first superblock, which was built in her own neighbourhood, will support the discussion section, while Patrick Kappert, leads the presentation and brings forward his activist standpoint as a neighbourhood resident also in the city's first superblock and his expert background in sustainable development. This stimulating presentation followed by open dialogue for questions and discussion.
The series take a closer look at place-led development cases, presented by the expert behind the project, to share recipes for success and lessons learned along the way. Check out our Working Group's page.
