Katharina is a Viennese urban planner working for superwien urbanism. She believes that as an urban planner you should always look at what happens in-between. In public space, but also between communities and between people. What fascinates her particularly is to constantly change the scale that one is working in and having to consider a thousand different things.
Her favourite part of the profession is to dive into the lives of different people in a very short time in order to understand what problems they might face everyday. Katharina strongly believes that including and empowering citizens not only leads to great projects but also strengthens the community. Therefore she is really happy to be part of the JPI PlaceCity project working together with locals and testing placemaking tools in Vienna, one of the case cities.
