We, The PlaceCity Team, invite you to EXPLORE PLACEMAKING IN CONTEXT through our research in Oslo and Vienna under the PlaceCity Project- Placemaking for sustainable, thriving cities. We are pleased to present an overview about placemaking in general, and more importantly, a grounded analysis about how placemaking is nuanced, perceived, practiced, and enabled in both the Norwegian and Austrian contexts. Access the pdf e-book HERE EXPLORING-PLACEMAKING-IN-CONTEXT-OSLO-VIENNA.
EXPLORING PLACEMAKING IN CONTEXT is the result of PlaceCity's Work Package 2: Project Governance and Infrastructure Research for the PlaceCity Project, you can read more about the overall Work Package 2 here.
Additionally, in this book, you can gain insight into how these placemakers overcome challenges, and also how they operate and interact with enablers, funders, services, and networks within a city. Moreover, in this e-book, you can discover Placemaking Heroes respective to each city and - from their own point of view - how they work, important lessons learned, and the integral goal driven tools they choose to apply to public space. Even better, in this web-version you can click forward to access the projects and tools.
As always, we invite you to interact with this open source knowledge, connect with us, and test public space tools in your own projects - we'd love to hear more about your experiences. We hope we leave you inspired!
PlaceCity is funded by JPI Urban Europe, The Research Council of Norway, and Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation, and Technology - Austria (Bundesministerium Verkehr, Innovation, und Technologie).
